Sophie Caballero
Sophie has been trained in Italy for the Biodynamic Craniosacral Approach and Shiatsu, and in France for Anti-Gymnastique. For the last 15 years, she has practiced Equilibre, her unique blend of these three modalities, both one-on-one and in group settings.
She has worked with the elderly, middle aged people, teenagers and children. The common denominator of all these individuals is that they had tried numerous approaches to recover their health, but had not achieved results… until they began working with Sophie.
Sophie’s experience is that no matter their current health challenges, all individuals can reconnect to their health and achieve greater functioning, health, and flexibility. Sophie is committed to create a space to allow a client’s nervous system to rebalance and to restore itself.
Sophie was born and raised in Paris, to a father from Granada, Andalusia, Spain and a mother of French and Russian origin. Sophie’s maternal Great Grandfather was an High-Ranking Officer of Czar Nikolai II, and the values of service excellence, high standards, integrity and dedication have been passed from generation to generation and are fully embodied in her work.
During her visit to the United States in 2006, Sophie met her future husband, Joseph
Dixon, a business and life coach (to find out more about his work see www.onthecourtcoaching.net ). Since their meeting and subsequent marriage, Sophie and Joseph have blended their families (Sophie’s 13 year-old son, Nikolai and Joseph’s two college-age children, Mary and David) and deeply support each other on many levels.
Sophie gives back to her community by bringing her gift of Equilibre to women survivors of war (See attached article), most of whom are the parents of students at the International Community School (ICS), in Decatur. ICS was featured on the front page of The New York Times on Christmas Day, 2007 in an article entitled A Laboratory for Getting Along
Sophie received her undergraduate degree in Languages (English, Spanish & Russian) from Universite Paris VIII. Two semesters of her undergraduate work were spent at NYU, where she studied International Relations and International Business. Additionally, she did a one year work/study internship with the Paris Chamber of Commerce focused on Import/Export.
In addition to being fluent in French, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Portuguese and English, Sophie speaks the language of the heart and the body. Through her speaking and listening skills, she enables others to access their body’s inner language.
